Marco Tazzini is the brewer of Birrificio Apuano, an artisan brand created in 2013, giving prestige to the name of the Apuan Alps. The headquarters are in Massa, a city known for history and art (as well as the provincial capital) located in the north part of Tuscany. Its brewing plant (largely self-designed and self-constructed) is located right at the foot of the mighty mass that makes up the Malaspina Castle. With its 3 hectoliters of capacity in the brewhouse (on a single mashing cycle) it produces, on an annual basis, about 300. The range of our production is inspired by the classic beer styles of Belgium and the most modern American productions. It’s the signature of the brewery and our brewer, a simplicity that we use to approach drinking, in which each beer lets the protagonists speak- when it comes to the complexity of the sweetness of the malts, when it comes to the facets of hops from all over the world. Our research is daily and constant. To further cement our connection to our region, we added over time beers made with grape must from the area, which is now the only new beer category coming from in Italy for the past few decades, and this so-called 'Italian Grape Ale' style is now envied throughout the world. In our brewery there is also a selection of wooden barrels in which special production beers destined for a limited selection of few hundred bottles are aged and refined.
