Birrificio il castello Massa

Il Birrificio del Castello is a small local company founded in 2012 in Marina di Massa that produces four varieties of craft beer, in sizes of 0.50 cl and 0.33 cl. The varieties are:

  • “Marinella”: lager style, 4.6 °, light and drinkable, with a bitter aftertaste due to the greater presence of hops.
  • “Frigido”: still a 4.6 ° lager style, but flavored with thyme.
  • “Piazza Aranci”: 5 ° blanche style, with a fruity aroma due to the orange peel and coriander
  • “La Rocca”: abbey style, with a strong aroma and a full-bodied 8 °, roasted and licorice flavor.
For some years we have varied the production by adding artisan liqueurs to our list through cold maceration of fruit or aromatic herbs, lemon verbena, basil, saffron, moringa, olive leaves, raspberries, blueberries, oranges, lemons etc.
Then there are the "Vermouth", with a base of white wine and maceration in alcohol of 13 spices and citrus fruits and the "Vino Chinato", which stands out for its red wine base.
Finally, in our line we have included three artisanal liqueurs: the "Cherry del Castello", based on red wine and 22 ° C sour cherry syrup (to be served cold), the "Li-Cuore Nero", a 26 ° Calabrian licorice (also to be served cold, as a digestive) and the "Li-Cuore di Mamma", with thick and creamy cocoa, to be served at room temperature. These liqueurs are in 500ml formats
